I have just spent several days drawing about 5 rural market towns, each trying to bring visitors and energy back to their high street. Their history, their attractions and their communities are struggling to be noticed. They had become lost, but now they are pulling together to find a new path
In my garden I came across a small family of Crocuses. The other plants around them are still dormant, not fooled by the early sun. In a brief window of bright winter sunshine they nodded closely together, fresh from the cold earth, pointing to where the morning sun rose.
They glowed in the cold grass.
I’m not sure why these things are connected in my head.
I think about community and about happiness a lot, what it is, where it is and how different people find it, make it, or perhaps don’t. People nodding in the same direction, sharing a sunrise.

Thanks for finding me here, do say hi. x
Beautiful massage to the heart right there. Thanks for the tiny updates - I don't get to spend as much time in substack as I like so I love these tasty snacks x
