The weather has been glorious, blue sky for days. Not too hot, a light breeze but sunshine from beginning to end. If you’re in the UK you’ll understand what a treat that is.
For me it has meant more time relaxing outside. Usually my outside time is spent working on the garden, it’s too cold to just sit, so it was a particular treat to take a typically indoor job of hemming some trousers, outdoors.
I packed an expedition kit of all the items I’d need for my task into the box I usually keep my cotton reels in, and had a glorious morning listening to the birds, in the shade, feet up, quietly progressing my sewing. A task that could easily be a chore was turned into a restorative, mindful activity just by switching location and immersing myself in the gardens atmosphere. I need to do that more often.
